14 June 2024 – TPI Polene Power Public Company Limited ("TPIPP") is a producer and distributor of electricity, and it operates the world's largest Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) power plant. It also provides the largest waste disposal services in Thailand. All of the company’s waste disposal plants are housed in one location, making it the largest such facility in the world. It has successfully passed the ISO14064-1 (Carbon Footprint Verification or CFV) certification, which is a standard for principles and requirements at the enterprise level for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and reductions, including requirements for design, development, management, reporting and verification of corporate greenhouse gas emissions and reductions from BSI, British Standards Institute.
Mr. Prachai Leophairatana, Chairman of TPIPP, revealed that TPIPP has passed the ISO14064-1 (Carbon Footprint Verification or CFV) certification from BSI Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd. ("BSI"), an expertise in carbon footprint verification from the British Standards Institute, which is the highest standard of quality assurance and quality control procedures in the industry.
"The Company is committed to and aware of the issue of climate change, which is a global issue that has attracted the attention of organizations, governments and leading organizations around the world and are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to address global warming. Measuring and reporting an organization's carbon footprint is to verify the accuracy of the amount of greenhouse gases that an organization wants to reduce and/or offset or to become a 'carbon neutral' organization, which is important for ensuring and demonstrating social responsibility.
